Calla lily, also known as Zantedeschia, is a genus of the Araceae family, native to South Africa. It includes perennial, herbaceous, flowering plants. It is common as a houseplant, being decorative because of its distinctive flowers, consisting of spadix and spathe, variously coloured. The plant's organs are highly toxic to both humans and animals.
