Bay laurel

Bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) is a species of plant in the Lauraceae family, originally from the Mediterranean basin. The bay laurel has the appearance of a shrub, being also known as the bay tree, having glossy and elliptical leaves, used for flavoring food. The flowers appear in the spring and are yellow-green, while the fruit is a black berry containing a single seed. Bay laurel is used both as a decorative and as an aromatic plant.
