Sugar beet

Sugar beet (Beta vulgaris var. saccharifera) is a biennial plant. In the first year of growth, the beet body is formed. Flowering branches form in the second year. It is used primarily as a raw material in the sugar industry. The molasses resulting from beet processing is used in the food and alcohol industries.
