I have a pelargonium and it’s so beautiful. Since the cold weather has come, she has bloomed more but brown spots have started to appear on her leaves… and they are really yellowing. I have removed the leaves with the spots but they are still appearing. How should I treat it? I’m afraid of losing the plant.
Hello, even though the plant seems healthy overall, the dark spots on the leaves could be the result of environmental factors, improper care, or a fungal disease (grey rot). In this case, it is indicated to remove the affected leaves and apply a preventive treatment (pelargoniums being susceptible to grey rot) with a fungicide such as Switch 62.5 WG, 10 g in a dose of 8 g/10 L water, by foliar spray. Spray (Tech1) the solution as finely as possible, so as to achieve a more even distribution on the plant, both on the upper and lower part of the leaves and on the stem. It is recommended to prepare a volume of solution corresponding to a single treatment (respecting the mentioned dosage) because the mixture already prepared does not have a validity longer than 24 hours. Also, 10-14 days after the end of the fungicide treatment, it is advisable to use a maintenance product such as Organic Spray for Indoor Plants Zimmerpflanzen, 500ml, applied by foliar spray. It supports plant regeneration after certain stress conditions. In addition, it is recommended to respect the specific care conditions described in our article: Pelargonium, plant care and growing guide.
