Small beetles eating wood, dried flowers

Good evening! Some time ago I noticed flying around the house (bedroom), attracted by the light 1-2 small beetles. In time, even though I caught them, more appeared. I applied a bit of Max Force IC gel on the wall where they usually sat in the light and discovered that every day at least 10 were dying, so I concluded that they were not so few and had arrived by mistake in our house. I thought they were harmless because I couldn’t see any damage, so I just stuck to applying max force, that is until fine powder started appearing under the bed , then I realised something was eating the wood and indeed these beetles seemed to be the culprits. The larvae in the wood are tiny and white. I mention that I haven’t seen any traces in other rooms except one bedroom is affected. I can’t explain how we ended up having them in the house 😩.
Can I get rid of them? What should I do? I have 2 small children and I’m afraid to use substances without knowing the exact process.

Hello, given the nature of the attack, you may be experiencing wood borers (How to get rid of Wood Borers). It is important to prepare a volume of solution corresponding to a single treatment (respecting the mentioned dosage) because the mixture already prepared does not have a shelf life longer than 24 hours. In the areas where you can see the holes created by the wood borers, the solution should be introduced with a syringe or other similar instrument. At the time of application, as well as during the next 4-6 hours, children and pets should leave the treated area. After this period, the treated area should be well ventilated and sensitive surfaces that come into direct contact should be wiped with a damp cloth.
