Philodendron, the variety ‘Pink Princess’ has variegated leaves that dry out
Only the pink leaves of the “pink princess” plant dry out. The green ones are ok.
How should I prune it, because it is already too tall?
Thank you!Attachments:

Hello, please send more focused photos of the plant, both with the affected leaves and the whole plant, including photos showing the substrate, as well as details about its care: where it is located, environmental factors (light, temperature, humidity, draughts, type of substrate, water quality, etc.), if you have carried out phytosanitary treatments, if you have administered fertilizers, as well as any other relevant information, so that we can help you with recommendations.
IoIonela15 October 2023Good afternoon,
I’ve hopefully attached more relevant photos. It is placed in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight. The substrate is the one I bought it with. Water from the tap, left in an open container. I have not applied any treatment/fertilizer. Temperature: the balcony is warmed by the sun a few hours a day, but with protection, not direct light. The idea is that periodically, the oldest pink leaf dries out. I gather, because the pink surface is too big, it doesn’t do photosynthesis anymore and dries out, and should be cut. I don’t know how…
Thank you!Attachments:

Hello, the plant looks very well. For a more decorative look, you can cut even half of the plant – the trimming can be done where the plant is leafless (it is recommended to cut above a leaf, using a sharp and disinfected tool such as Lady Pruner). The cut part can also be used for propagation – the first leaves need to be removed from the base, and the resulting seedling is placed in the substrate or in a container of water (after the roots are 5 cm long, the seedling is transferred into the substrate). In the case of the mother plant, to ensure an optimal and luxuriant growth, an organic fertilizer such as Organic Spray for Indoor Plants Zimmerpflanzen, 500ml can be applied.
