Philodendron, sticky leaves
The Philodendron has sticky leaves, it had the same problem before, it lost most of its leaves, I treated it with mospilan in spring, it recovered, but now it has the same problem again. I don’t know if I should use something stronger.

Hello. In order to be able to help you with a recommendation, please give us more information about the plant: what are the environmental conditions in the premises (temperature, humidity, light)? How often do you water it and how do you water it? When exactly did the symptoms start? Are pests (check carefully) or symptoms of disease (spots, deposits, discoloration) present on the leaves/stem? Also, please attach several clear, relevant photos of the topside and underside of the affected leaves as well as the plant as a whole.
OBOzana Benea8 December 2023The plant stays indoors, between 19-22 degrees, medium humidity, indirect light. I water it once every 10/14 days or so when the soil is dry. It has a pot with holes and I let the water drain before putting it in the decorative pot. About a month ago the leaves started to turn yellow and fall off – the ones in the first pictures. Now it has stopped, not a single leaf has turned yellow, only some of them have spots (like in the third picture). I didn’t see any pests.

Hello. From the pictures included, the plant suffers from a strong mite attack. To control them we recommend two treatments, 7 days apart, with the product Vertimec 1.8 EC, 10 ml, in a dose of 5 ml per 10 l water. To increase the effectiveness of the insecticide, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/10 L, to the solution. Spray the mixture as finely as possible, so as to achieve a uniform distribution on the plant. It is important to prepare a volume of solution corresponding to a single treatment (respecting the mentioned dosage), because the already prepared mixture does not have a shelf life longer than 24 hours. Furthermore, in order to stimulate the plant’s own regeneration capacity, it is advisable to water it with a fertilizer such as Vital NT, 250 ml, as recommended on the product label. Further it is recommended to take proper care of the plant following the information in our article in the Armuro Community: Philodendron, plant care and growing guide.
