Fittonia with leaf spots
Hello. I have a fittonia and i don't know what to do to make it grow better. I will post some pictures. Some brown dotted leaves appeared on the back of some leaves, plus it does not grow upwards. Besides, what do you advise me to do with the stem that has some almost dry leaves… Should i cut it? Thank you

Hello, please tell us more details: when did the symptoms appear? How often do you water the plant? Where is it placed? Have you noticed any pests? Have you ever taken any treatment or fertilizer?

CaCarmen27 March 2022The plant has grown down from the beginning. I've had it for months. During the winter i kept it by the window behind the curtain and as the sun went down i put it in direct sun from time to time. I thought she needed it and i think it's because some of the leaves have faded, but now i've been protecting it from the sun for about 3-4 weeks. I changed the pot about 2-3 months ago. Half of it grows beautifully, but half doesn't, that part may have been exposed to the sun. What worries me are these brown spots

If there have been periods when the plant has been exposed to the sun, most likely the symptoms are caused by high brightness. In the natural environment, Phytonia grows near the soil, so it prefers shaded areas, away from direct sunlight, which can cause burns (as in the photos). It is recommended to remove the affected parts, as they will not recover and move the plant to a shadier place, and to support regeneration process, you can apply a fertilizer such as biplantole vital ( Biplantol Vital NT, 250 ml ), by watering.
