Elderberry with sticky leaves
Hello. I have elderberry in the yard, but it’s somehow sick or attacked. The flowers have many beetles or flies on the stem, the leaves are moist and sticky in areas with insects. I don’t know how to take care of the shrubs at all. What can I do? Thank you in advance.

Hello, from the symptoms described by you, the elderberry seems to be affected by a species of aphids. Against them, you can apply an insecticide such as Mavrik 2 F, 5 ml , in a dose of 5 ml / 10 l of water. The treatment can be repeated 2-3 times, at intervals of 7 days, until you no longer notice the presence of pests. As the product is not strictly approved for elderberry, it is not possible to specify a preharvest interval.
