Hello, if the symptoms appeared immediately after you bought it, most likely the buds and flowers falling were caused by the stress suffered during transportation and by the environmental change. You can currently apply 2-3 treatments with a fertilizer such as Biplantol Vital NT, 250 ml, to support the plant adapt to the new conditions. Later, during the vegetation period, in order to stimulate the camellia’s flowering, you can regularly apply a special fertilizer for flowering plants: Wuxal Flowers Fertilizer Blütenpracht, 1 litre. For information on proper care of camellia, please access our article: Camellia, plant care and growing guide.

Recommended articlesMaMary8 April 2022Good evening, I bought a plant at the beginning of March. After a few days, its leaves and buds started falling off. I only watered with spring water. I think at first I gave it too much water but I did my research and reduced the watering. Hoping that would help, I changed the pot and soil. I used soil with a ph as close as possible to that recommended for Camellia. At the moment my flower looks like the picture. Is there anything else that can be done?

Hello. In case you have not noticed the presence of pests, the depreciation of Camellia has most likely occurred as a result of a combination of biotic and abiotic factors, such as changing environmental and care conditions (Acclimatisation of indoor plants and Indoor plant placement according to environmental factors), inadequate humidity, additional stress caused by repotting (Indoor plants - Repotting), inadequate temperature or light, inadequate air humidity, etc. However, the Camellia buds in the attached image seem viable.
Thus, since the appearance and development of phytopathogens is stimulated by the high and constant humidity of the substrate, it is recommended to apply 1-2 treatments at 7-10 days intervals with a biological fungicide, such as Dynamic, 100 g, by watering, in a dose of 10 g/ 10 L water. It is important to prepare a volume of solution corresponding to a single treatment (respecting the mentioned dosage) because the mixture already prepared does not have a validity longer than 24 hours.
To stimulate plant regeneration, 7-10 days after fungicide treatments, it is recommended to use a fertilizer such as AMN Powerfertiliser, 500 ml, by watering, according to label instructions. After the appearance of leaves, to ensure optimal hydration and to strengthen the metabolism of the plant, you can consider the regular application of a foliar fertilizer, such as Biplantol Vital NT, 250 ml, according to label instructions.
Next, it is recommended to provide appropriate care as described in our article: Camellia, plant care and growing guide.- This reply was modified 2 years ago by Armuro.
