Camellia leaves falling and black buds
I have a camellia that has recently suffered a loss of leaves and a blackening of the buds plus reddish spots on the leaves. It is watered correctly but i have not changed the soil at all since it was bought. What can you give me an advice?

Hello, in order to help you with a recommendation, please attach more photos with it and tell us more details about care: where is it placed, what are the environmental conditions (light, temperature, humidity)? How do you water it? Does the pot have drainage holes? When did the symptoms start, exactly? Have you applied any treatment or fertilizer recently? Did you notice any pests?

nsneculai sorin5 April 2022Temperature is around 10-18, normal humidity, watered every few days if the soil dries, the pot has drainage holes, last year the leaves fell on one side, but during the summer it grew back. Now its leaves fall, the stem is cracked. I changed the soil above. I did not notice any pests but some leaves are affected.

Considering the information and photos, camellia shows symptoms of a stress determined by excessive humidity at the root level or improper drainage of the substrate. If it has never been repotted, starting in spring, before the vegetation period (when it does not have buds or flowers) it is recommended to replace the soil mix with a fresh one, Geranium & Balcony Flowers Substrate, 10 litres. After repotting, it is important to apply a rooting solution AMN BonaVita, 500 ml. More information can be found in the following article: Indoor plants - Repotting. At the moment, it is recommended to remove the very affected parts, and to support the plant regeneration and its resistance to stress, you can apply a fertilizer such as Interior Plant Regeneration Ackerschachtelhalm RTU, 500 ml. More information about the proper care of these plants is described in our article: Camellia, plant care and growing guide.
