Apple tree, reddish lumps on the branches
Hello,
I have an idared apple tree planted in September 2017. In 2020 and 2022 it had a lot of fruit. In 2021 it didn’t produce any fruit and this year it had one apple, very big (9 cm in diameter).
After the leaf fall I noticed on 2 branches some hard pinkish-brown lumps. In November it was sprayed with bordeaux mixture and then with mospitanoil.
Is it sick?
Thank you!Attachments:

Hello! To help you with a recommendation, please attach more focused, clear, close-up photos of the formations you have observed. Also please remove one of the formations, section it and attach clear pictures of the sections.
BrBrandusa10 January 2024BrBrandusa11 January 2024Hello! In the photos there seem to be adventitious root developed from preformed root primordia (burr knots), which often occur as a result of unfavorable environmental conditions (high humidity, insufficient light) or a genetic predisposition. The formations are not really a problem for the trees, but they can be a gateway for certain pests or pathogens. It is recommended to remove the knots and apply a healing agent such as Bio Plantella Arbosan, 350 g during dry weather and at temperatures above 0°C. Next, it is recommended to take proper care of the tree, as described in our articles: Apple tree, planting, growing and harvesting, Apple tree treatments, pest and disease control
