Apple tree, Golden Delicious – the upper part of the the trunk is peeling off

Hello! This is a Golden Delicious apple tree 3 years after being planted, and I noticed an area where the trunk is peeling off (in the upper part). The tree sits in the sun most of the day and it has not been watered in the last 2 months, as the soil has remained quite wet after rain/snow.
I should also mention that it was sprayed with Bordeaux mixture a month and a half ago, and two weeks ago with a mixture of horticultural oil and ovipron pro in combination with coragen and vertimec (winter treatment).
Could you please tell us what the problem is and how we can help it recover as quickly as possible? Is it necessary to cut under that portion in order to remove that part of the trunk?
      Thank you!

Hello. In this case, you may consider cleaning the dry bark/wounds (as much as possible) with a sharp and disinfected tool beforehand. Then, using a brush, it is advisable to apply a copper-containing product such as Bouillie Bordelaise WDG, 50 g. One sachet of Bouillie Bordelaise WDG, 50 g is dissolved in a small amount of water (200 – 300 ml) to form a paste. After disinfecting thoroughly with the blue solution and allowing it to dry, a healing solution such as Tree plaster, 300 g can be applied to the existing wounds on the trunk. Additionally, to protect the trunk from future cracking (which occurs due to adverse environmental conditions), you may consider using a product such as Protekt Bio Plantella, 1.5 kg (administered according to the instructions on the label). It also protects the bark from frost and high temperatures, increases the elasticity of the bark and prevents pests from overwintering.
If the wound is deep, cutting the trunk from underneath is recommended. It is important to cut above a branch, in order to make a transfer.
