Anthurium and calathea – symptoms on leaves
Hello,
For about a week and a bit I’ve noticed some strange yellowing on the leaves of anthuriums and calatheas, they seem to have a little greenish ring next to them. I sprayed them with neem oil solution but I can’t tell if it’s pests or what because it seems like the problem is progressing.
Thanks a lot, I want to manage to save them or cure them.Attachments:

Hello. In order to be able to help you with relevant advice, please attach more detailed photos of the plants as a whole, but also in detail with the symptoms on the leaves (both upper and lower). In addition, please detail your request and give us some additional information: How long have you owned the plants? Have you noticed any pests? Have you applied fertilizers or phytosanitary treatments? How often do you water and what volume of water do you use? What are the environmental conditions (e.g. temperature, light, air humidity)? Do the pots have drainage holes?

Hello and thank you for your answer. The plants are placed in the light but not near the window. Since the whole wall facing the sun is glass, they have light even if they are not right next to the window. I water them about once a week now in the cold season. The only recent change is that I bought a humidifier and have been keeping it at about 50-70% (for about 2 weeks) and also about 2 weeks ago I put a little bit of a beige fertilizer in each pot but I have used them before and there have been no problems. (I have put a photo of where the plants were, I have been separating them for a couple of days not knowing what was wrong with them, and I have not seen any pests on them) All the pots have drainage holes and all the plants apart from one calathea have been in my care for over a year and have had no problems. My fear is that it is not a bacteriosis because I had 2 plants infested about a year ago but they died, I completely cut off the leaves and one of them gave again and was healthy until recently (anthurium clarinervum the one with 2 leaves) I put some fertilizer on them about once a month. I have over 60 plants in my care and I think it’s strange that this problem came up so suddenly.

Hello. From the images you have attached, the symptoms have most probably appeared as a result of a combination of biotic and abiotic factors, such as high atmospheric humidity (small distance from the humidifier), inadequate watering, inappropriate temperature, possibly a bacterial disease, etc. For the time being, it is recommended to remove the affected leaves and carry out a preventive treatment with a copper-based fungicide, such as Champ 77 WG, 20 g, in a dose of 20 g/10 L water. Spray the solution as finely as possible, so as to achieve a more even distribution on the plant, both on the lower and upper part of the leaves. It is important to prepare a volume of solution corresponding to a single treatment (respecting the mentioned dosage) because the mixture already prepared does not have a validity longer than 24 hours. It is also advisable to respect the care conditions of these species, as detailed in our articles (Calathea, plant care and growing guide, Anthurium, plant care and growing guide) and the humidifier to be positioned at a greater distance from the plants. In addition 10-14 days after the end of the fungicide treatment, in order to support plant regeneration following the disease, it is important to administer a specially formulated fertilizer such as Organic Spray for Indoor Plants Zimmerpflanzen, 500ml, by foliar spray according to the product label. The recommended fertilizer can also be applied to other plants in the room.
