Aloe, the leaves at its base are drying out
Hello,
I am having problems with an aloe vera plant that I received in April 2023 (picture 1).
I kept it in the original pot until May-June 2023, when I separated the seedlings and moved it to the pot it is in now.
After I moved it and until the end of September I watered it twice a week with a small amount of water, and once I also added a fertilizer for green plants. The soil of the plant was dry before watering.
At the end of September 2023, the plant looked as in the pictures 2.a and 2.b.
Now, in January 2024 (picture no. 3), several leaves at its base have started to dry out at the same time as the new seedlings are growing.
I am wondering if this is normal or if the plant is affected.
Environmental conditions:
– temperature: 21 degrees (in winter)
– light: it stands at the window shown in the pictures, it receives light, but not direct sunlight
– watering: in winter, once a week with a relatively small amount of water (50-100 ml)
– substrate: substrate for green plants
– atmospheric humidity: 40-50%
When the symptoms appeared: at the end of autumn, 2023
Transplanting: May-June 2023
Treatments/products/substances: only in summer with a fertilizer
Symptoms of disease: the leaves from the base fall off
Thank you!
