Thyme

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a perennial herb, which occurs as a sub-shrub. The stem is richly branched, with lignified branches at the lower part, reaching up to 15-30 cm tall. The leaves are opposite, lanceolate, with a twisted edge towards the top. The flowers are small, pink, very aromatic. The fruits are very small, brown. Thyme is cultivated both as an aromatic vegetable and as a medicinal herb.
