Patience dock

Patience dock (Rumex patientia) is a herbaceous perennial plant, which has a fleshy, strongly branched, pivoting root in the soil that can penetrate to great depths. After sprouting, it develops a rich rosette of large leaves with a slightly acidic, bitter taste. It is thought to be native to south-eastern Europe, where it is widespread in wild flora in wetlands and river valleys.
