Lemon balm

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a perennial plant, which has a horizontal, jointed rhizome in the soil with numerous adventitious roots. The stem is branched, branched, and can reach 60-120 cm tall. The leaves are ovate, pubescent, with a pleasant aroma and slightly bitter taste. The flowers are reddish and the seeds are small, ovoid, brownish nuts. The green and dried leaves of melissa are used for seasoning and flavoring a wide range of culinary preparations and for making liqueurs. It is a valuable melliferous plant and has a decorative appearance with its habit and flowers.
