Brussels sprout

Brussels sprout (Brassica oleracea var gemmifera) - is a variety of cabbage in the Brassicaceae family, grown for its small edible green leafy sprouts, which resemble a miniature cabbage. The plant has long, smooth, glossy leaves that can be green to purple and are arranged alternately on the stem. Buds form at the base of each leaf in a spiral. The edible portion of the plant is the bud. It is light green to green to blue in color. The plant is biennial and can reach 0.6-1 m in height, with a spread of 0.5-0.6 m.
