Willow, holes on the trunk
Hello,
I have in my yard several crack willows, corkscrew willows and weeping willows. During the summer I noticed some holes on the trunks. At first I thought they were made by birds, but now they have turned brown.
What could we spray these trees with to heal these patches / holes.Attachments:

Hello, the symptoms in the photos you sent are similar to those of mechanical injuries. In this case, you can consider cleaning the dry bark/wounds (as much as possible), with a sharp and disinfected tool beforehand. If when cleaning you notice larvae or holes towards the center of the stem, it is recommended to insert a flexible steel wire into the tunnel and pull the larvae out. Then, with the help of a brush, it is advisable to apply a copper-containing product such as Bouillie Bordelaise WDG, 50 g. One sachet of Bordeaux mixture (50 g) is dissolved in a small amount of water (0.5 liters) to form a paste. Copper has a bactericidal, fungicidal effect and helps wounds heal quickly. After disinfecting thoroughly with the blue solution and allowing it to dry, a healing product such as Tree plaster, 300 g, can be applied to the existing wounds on the stems.
