What are these butterflies with transparent wings in the attic of the house?
Hello,
Please help me, if possible, with the identification of the butterflies that appeared in the attic of the house, near the windows. As far as I know, wood borers do not make butterflies. What are these butterflies and what would be the cause of their appearance? I noticed that they showed up after insulating the ceilings with glass wool and painting the rooms with washable paint. Thanks a lot.

From the pictures sent, they are insects from the order Neuroptera, the species in the photos being called green lacewings (Chrysopa sp.). They are not harmful to humans, their larvae feed on the pests that attack plants: aphids, thrips. They may have appeared precisely because of the presence of these plant pests (if you have plants indoors or in the garden). If they are in large numbers on the premises, a broad-spectrum insecticide such as K-Othrine WG 250, 20 g can be applied to control the adults.
