Treatment against carpet beetles

Hello,

How to get rid of Carpet beetles? Small ladybugs, ~ 2mm in size, brown, which lay eggs from which hatch some brown / black striped hairy larvae (I also have pictures if it’s unclear what I’m talking about.. they can also be found on the internet).

I had an infestation in a sofa. I got rid of them after 2 disinsections, at an interval of 14 days, carried out by a company that used K-Othrine. The problem is that not all of them died. After about a month I started to notice these ladybugs again, at a fairly large time interval (one every 3-4 weeks), and recently I’ve found a larva again, in the bathroom.

Is there an effective way to get rid of them permanently? I did not find information about them on any Romanian forum, and the disinsection companies do not seem to know either. On foreign forums (UK / US) it is full of information and complaints regarding these pests.

Hello, in the bathroom, being an environment with high humidity, if you apply a product, its after-effect is much diminished. The applied insecticides act by direct contact. More precisely, the pests must cross the space on which the insecticide was applied in order to have the desired effect. Given the places where they are usually present, controlling these pests is more difficult. It is recommended to spray a broad-spectrum insecticide with another active substance, such as Cytrol Forte WP, 20 g, in a dose of 10 g/5 l water. After applying the solution, the space will remain closed for a period of 4-6 hours. After that, you can enter, air the rooms and vacuum the entire space and surfaces. It is also advisable to wash all fabrics / materials / carpets at higher temperatures. Repeat the treatment after a period of 7-10 days.
