Hello. The symptoms in the pictures are similar to those caused by rust (Gymnosporangium sabinae). This type of rust needs 2 host plants to complete its life cycle. The main host is represented by plants of the Rosaceae family (pear, quince, etc.) and the intermediate host is represented by conifers (juniper). To control this disease, it is usually recommended to remove one of the two host plants to prevent the fungus from completing its cycle. However, because the spores of the fungus can travel relatively long distances (spores can be dispersed from conifers that are not in your yard but the vicinity), this measure may not effectively control the occurrence of this disease in pear tree.
In the case of the pear tree, considering the period in which we are, it is recommended to carry out the treatments during the dormant period, after the fall of leaves (they will not be left on the ground, but will be collected and destroyed by burning). Dormancy treatments consist of applying a copper-based fungicide, such as Bouillie Bordelaise WDG, 50 g or Champ 77 WG, 20 g or Coppermax, 30 g and horticultural oil: Mospilan Oil 20 SG 10, 3 g + 50 ml or Estiuoil, 100 ml or Ovipron Top, 100 ml. More information about dormancy treatments can be found in our article: Winter treatments with oils and copper-based products.
During this period, it is recommended to use a fertilizer with a high potassium content, such as Fertilizer 0-0-40 Azet HerbstKali, 2 kg, applied by spreading around fruit trees, followed by incorporation and watering, according to the recommendations on the label. This fertilizer increases drought and frost resistance and improves the water balance of the trees.
Starting in spring, you can consider a preventive treatment at the beginning of the growing season with a fungicide that also has rust in its spectrum of action, such as Airone SC, 1 litre, which protects the young leaves.
At the same time, in order to ensure balanced fertilization during a growing season, it is recommended to use specific fertilizers: Tree Power Plus Baum, 1 kg; Organic Fertilizer for Fruit Trees, 2 kg, Fertiorgan Micro, 1 litre; applied according to the recommendations on the label of the chosen product.-
