Peach – dried/curled leaves and pests
Good evening. My peach is under attack. Please tell me what attacks him and what to treat him with. Thanks in advance to everyone for the answers! 1. How can the insects in the pictures be fought in such a way as to do as little harm as possible to the ladybugs, which seem to live in peaches? I have the following insecticides in the garage: faster. Mospilan, affirm, and calypso 2. What problem do the leaves have and how can I treat them. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello, the peach has an aphid attack, but it also has symptoms of fungal disease. It is recommended to carry out treatments with insecticides such Mavrik 2 F, 5 ml, applied by spraying in a dose of 5 ml / 10 l water or Teppeki, 1.5 g, applied by spraying in a dose of 1. 5 g / 10 l the water. It is recommended to perform two or three treatments at intervals of 7-10 days between them and alternating products. Specifically, if the first treatment is done with Mavrik, the second will be done after 7-10 days with Teppeki. It is also advisable to remove the heavily affected leaves and gather the plant debris resulting from cutting or falling to the ground and burn them. Between the insecticide treatments, one or two treatments can be made with a fungicide such as Score 250 EC, 2 ml, applied by spraying in a dose of 2 ml / 10 l water. It is important to respect the preharvest interval mentioned on each product’s label. To properly develop the trees, it is advisable to consider performing the treatments during the dormancy period, as well as preventive ones.

CiCiprian29 March 2022Hello, thank you very much for the answer. 1. What insect is in the attached picture? 2. "hello, the peach has an aphid attack, but it also has symptoms of fungal disease. " specifically, what fungal disease is it? Currently, I have the following fungicides in the garage: dithane m-45, topsin, aliette 80 wg, tebustar ew, and Bordeaux mixture. Can any of them replace the score fungicide you recommended? Thanks in advance.

Hello, the insect in the attached photo seems to be the larva of a species of ladybug (Coccinella septempunctata). They do not affect the plants, especially, they are natural predators of some pests, such as aphids. It is also difficult to accurately diagnose the disease in the absence of laboratory tests. From the images sent, we can see the specific symptoms of peach leaf curl (Taphrina deformans), but also of shot hole leaves (Stigmina carpophylla), but, for a detailed analysis, it is best to use a specialized laboratory. Among the fungicides mentioned, against these diseases, dithane is approved for peach. It is applied in a dose of 20 g / 10 l of water, by spraying on the leaves. After removing the affected leaves, you can perform 2-3 treatments with this fungicide, at intervals of 7-10 days.
