Hello. To identify the pests, please send us close-up and focused photos of them. Also, please let us know if you notice fine webs around the veins on the topside and/or underside of the leaves and send us photos of these, if any.
CaCamelia25 December 2023No fine webs. I tried to focus as much as possible.

Hello! The plant is attacked by scale insects (Scale insects in ornamental plants - pest management). On the leaves you can see both the females (large, flat insects) and the males (small white insects). For control, it is recommended to treat with insecticides such as Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, in a dose of 7.5 ml/10 L water and Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, in a dose of 3 g/10 L water. Two treatments can be carried out, 5-7 days apart, alternating the products. Specifically, if you carry out the first treatment with Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, you can carry out the second treatment with Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, 5-7 days after the first one. In order to increase the effectiveness of the insecticides, it is advisable to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, to the solution in a dose of 2 ml/10 L. Spray the mixture as finely as possible so that it is distributed evenly on the plant, both on the upper and lower part of the leaves and on the stem. After they die, these pests remain on the stem and leaves, so it is advisable to remove them with a damp sponge.
7-10 days after the treatments, it is advisable to use a maintenance product such as Organic Spray for Indoor Plants Zimmerpflanzen, 500ml or Contra X, 500 ml, applied directly by spraying. It supports plant regeneration after certain stressful conditions or if they have suffered from pest attacks. Additionally, you may consider using a fertilizer specially formulated for indoor plants with green leaves, such as Wuxal Green Plants and Palm Fertilizer Palmendünger, 1 litre, applied by watering, according to the label recommendations. For proper development, it is important to respect the specific environmental and care requirements detailed in our article: Pachira, plant care and growing guide.
