How do you I get rid of powdery mildew on roses?
Hello, I received a gift of a pot of dwarf roses. For some time now it has been showing a kind of white mold on the leaves leading to their drying and falling off. I should mention that they are placed on a closed balcony but the temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius. The watering was done when the soil seemed relatively dry. They are not positioned in direct light but there is no lack of light. Should they be moved to a warmer room? I attach pictures for a clearer description.

Hello. The symptoms of the rose are similar to the ones caused by powdery mildew (Rose powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca pannosa var. rosae) - identify and control). In this case, it is recommended to remove the affected leaves (covered with the ”whitish powder”) and to apply one treatment with a fungicide such as Topas 100 EC, 3 ml, in a dose of 3 ml/6 L water. The treatment is applied by spraying (Tech1) uniformly on the plant. Also, during this period, to help the plant to overcome the stress period, it is advisable to use an organic fertilizer, rich in beneficial microorganisms, such as Yokosan, 100 ml, applied by watering, according to the recommendations on the label.
From spring onwards, and during the growing season, you can consider regular application of a specially formulated rose fertilizer, such as Yokosan, 100 ml, or Biplantol Roses NT, 250 ml, applied according to the label recommendations. Also, it is good to know that for dwarf potted roses the optimum temperature is between 16-24 °C.-
