Forsythia – spots on leaves (pest attack)
Hello, I have two potted forsythia, kept on the balcony, mostly afternoon sun. Now I water them heavily once every 7/10 days, depending on how quickly the soil dries out. By August they had a mite attack and I treated them with Vertimec. They have recovered completely and have had no problems so far, now I don’t see any white webs at all. I applied them fertilizer once every 2 weeks, Biplantol Vital NT, until the end of October. The minimum temperature was 9 degrees. I attach pictures.

Hello. The symptoms in the pictures are similar to those caused by a pest (possibly thrips or a species of leafhopper). In this case, you can consider treatment with an insecticide that has both thrips and leafhoppers in its spectrum of control, such as Faster 10 CE, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/7 L water, applied by uniform spraying on the plant (on the upper and lower part of the leaves).
10 days after the insecticide treatment, you can use a maintenance product such as Biplantol Contra X, 500 ml, applied directly by spraying. It supports plant regeneration after certain stress conditions, or if they have suffered pest attacks.
More information about the care of these species can be found in our article: Forsythia, planting guide and care work.-
