CrCristian7 November 20230 Wish green leaves
Euphorbia, the stem and leaves dry out
I have had this plant since October 10, I got 2 seedlings from it. The big one was broken from the mother plant and the small one (thin) had roots. I watered it regularly, but not too much because I noticed the soil was too wet and since that moment I watered it less often… I noticed that the stem of the small one is slowly drying out, starting from the base towards the leaves. The leaves are still green, but the stem is dry… With the big one it’s just the opposite, the leaves are drying out one by one and the stem is still green.. but it has changed from a raw, light green to a dark green… I don’t know what to do with it. I should mention that at the moment of planting I put special ceramic balls for drainage at the base of the pot, and as a substrate I used a common substrate, quite airy… One more thing, the plants are in a place where the air circulates, and they have enough light throughout the day, indirect light.

Hello. Regarding the rooted seedling, most likely it has suffered because of the excessive water in the substrate, and in this case it is recommended to remove it. Regarding the unrooted cutting, it is recommended to treat it with a biological fungicide such as Dynamic, 100 g, administered by watering the roots in a dose of 10 g/ 10 L water. 7-10 days after treatment, it is recommended to use a fertilizer (e.g. AMN BonaVita, 500 ml) to help the roots and the plant to develop. In the future it is recommended to water moderately, when the first 2-3 cm of the substrate have dried (you can leave the tap water in an open container for 24 hours before watering the plants to remove the chlorine). For more information on the care of the plant you can also consult our article in the Armuro Community: Euphorbia, plant care and growing guide.
