Clover with white spots on leaves
I found a strong variegated leaf patch of trifolium repens. The leaves come green and yellow and then as they mature the yellow turns to white. They seem healthy and robust. Does variegation necessarily mean mosaic virus?

Hello. Please provide us with more details regarding your issue: if you have noticed the presence of a pest; if you already applied treatments/fertilizer (please specify the products used, the quantity of the solution, and the volume of water used at dilution); what are the temperatures/climate you are keeping the plant in?
Also, please attach several pictures of the plants in question: both overall pictures (the whole plant) and pictures of details (for example, the upper, and lower face of the leaf or stem).-

Ok thank you so much. I’ll start by sending you the patch as I found it at the end of May growing on top of some gravel and sand and clay fill on the side of my front lawn. We had a fairly dry May followed by a really wet June. Shortly after this pic I transplanted it into many pots and it’s grown and thrived.
Sincerely, MatthewAttachments:

From the attached pictures, the symptoms are similar to those caused by a virus (most likely Alfalfa mosaic virus). This virus is transmitted by infected seeds and aphids in a non-persistent manner.
There is no treatment for the virus. Affected plants are removed from the crop and destroyed. However, if you want to be sure, you may consider having a laboratory analysis done. This can be done at a Plant Protection Institute in your area.AuthorPostsViewing 1 reply threadWas this discussion helpful?
