Boxwood – why is losing his colour?
Good evening! I come back with a question about what treatment I could order for the boxwoods that are starting to lose their bright green color. It turns yellow on the inside as well and the leaf loses its color. I looked carefully but I didn’t notice any pests! Thank you very much!

Hello, in order to be able to help you with an appropriate recommendation, please give us more details: when did the symptoms start? What are the environmental conditions (temperature, humidity), at what interval is the watering performed? When was the boxwood planted? Have you recently received any treatment/fertilizer? Also, please cut a branch and tell us if the tissue is healthy or is browned.

I planted the bushes 6 weeks ago with the root ball, no treatment was used for them. Where they are planted they have sun until the afternoon and water depending on the weather (2 x / week until the soil is soggy). The symptoms started with about 1-2 weeks instead of that intense green the color goes to yellow, when the branch is sectioned it is a little dry and you can see small white spots (few) like a mold!? What treatment can I apply? Thank you very much!

From the information provided, the most likely symptoms of yellowing appeared as a result of the stress suffered during planting (Ornamental trees and shrubs - Planting guide). In the case of boxwood, it is very important that it is planted with a root ball and the root system is well developed, proportional to its age, in order to support new vegetative growth, as well as the normal development of root-specific processes. If the root system is not properly developed or the roots have been severely cut before purchase, there is a possibility that at some time after planting, the bush will begin to wilt irreversibly, for no apparent reason. Given the current state of the bush, it is not possible to specify whether the planting was successful, but if it has green branches, you can consider the administration of a natural fertilizer that also supports rooting: AMN BonaVita, 500 ml. Dilute 50 ml / 10 l of water and apply by watering the root (loosen the soil a little before application). It is recommended to apply 3-4 treatments, at intervals of 10-14 days.
