Blackberries – doesn’t rippen uniformly
My blackberries begin the year well but after a couple of weeks of ripening, some of the individual blebs of berries are lighter colored, a lighter purple, and soon the berries become fragile and don’t keep well. Also, on some berries the blebs are totally lacking in color, looking off-white, very unsightly. I grow organically and hope for an organic solution. Thank you.

Hello, to ensure a uniform ripening of the fruit, try to ensure balanced fertilization and you can give something based on calcium from flowering until ripening. Calcium plays an important role, it is part of the cell walls. Apply calcium-based fertilizer (Wuxal Calciumdunger Calcium Fertilizer, 1 litre) according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
