Quercus rubra – treatments against anthracnose
Northern red oak was planted in the fall of 2020. I have not applied any treatment. For two weeks new buds have started to dry and now the leaves are beginning to be affected, from the margin. Thanks.

Hello. In order to help you with a recommendation, please provide us with more information about oak: where is it located, what are the environmental conditions (soil, light, temperature)? At what time do you water? When you water the lawn, does the water reach the oak? Is there a pest on the plant?

Hello. The oak is planted in full sun. So far I have not started the irrigation system for the lawn and the oak has been watered manually weekly. No pests are observed on the plant.

From the attached images, the symptoms are similar to those caused by anthracnose. In this case, it is recommended to remove the affected leaves and apply two treatments, at an interval of 7-10 days, with a fungicide such as Zoxis 250 SC, 10 ml , in a dose of 10 ml / 10 l water, applied by foliar spray. Also, it is recommended to administer an organic fertilizer such as AMN Verde, 500 ml. Due to the content in micro and macroelements, the fertilizer stimulates the microbiological activity in the soil, which leads to the improvement of fertility and implicitly to the revitalization and healthy growth of the plant. The treatments are applied by watering, at an interval of 2-3 weeks, in a dose of 50 ml / 10 l of water.
