The true leaves are greenish-yellow, 10-15 cm long, with spiral foliar limbs, glabrous and often dark-colored sheath, and short lacy ligules.

Rye brome flower is in the form of elongated spikelets, with 8-15 flowers, developed in panicles scattered vertically at first and then droopy.

The germination season is in spring and autumn.

The flowering period is from late spring to autumn, the plant producing between 800-1600 seeds.

It is recommended to use approved herbicides to control it, depending on the crop.
