Insecticide gel is one of the treatment used against cockroaches.

Cockroaches are insects that can be found in any type of space, all year round. The most common categories of beetles are roaches and sewer cockroaches.

Cockroaches usually appear in neglected and unclean places. Therefore, in order to control the degree of infestation, you must maintain the problematic area clean in addition to performing specific treatments. It is recommended to intervene as soon as you observe the presence of these cockroaches because the more you wait, the harder and expensive the treatment becomes.

Identification access roads in the house and sealing them is an important step in the effective elimination of cockroaches.

 How are gel-based insecticides formulated?

In addition to the active substance (eg imidacloprid, indoxacarb, etc.), they also contain attractants (co-formulants), which have the role of attracting beetles within a few meters.

Insecticide Gel – How to Apply?

Apply in small amounts (rice grains), maintaining a distance of 1-2m and insist in their hiding places: near kitchen drain pipes and bathrooms, under and behind appliances (washing machines, stoves, refrigerators), around door frames, electric meters, radiator inlet pipes, in corners hidden from light, where there are cracks in the wall or floor, or in any other place where the application of insecticides is not possible.

Thanks to the attractant, roaches are attracted to consumption. Approximately 24 hours after the first application of the treatment, you will start to observe the first dead roaches. They should be left in place as much as possible, because, by the nature of the species, roaches feed on other dead fellows.

A main feature of insecticide gels is the cascade or domino effect. To be more exact, live or young specimens (born after the eggs have been expelled by the female roaches that have consumed the insecticide gel) will consume their dead counterparts, in addition to the gel drop, and will also die within a few days.

Where to apply gel insecticides?

It is mainly applied indoors: office buildings, residential complexes, kitchens, hospitals, restaurants, grocery stores, canteens, etc.

Insecticide gel – Effects on children and pets

Essentially, gel insecticides are not toxic to non-target organisms. However, it is recommended to follow the instructions for use mentioned on the label.

Recommended poisoning stations:

Their role is to protect the insecticide gel against the action of various factors. Also, non-target organisms do not come into contact with the gel.
